Expressing the Unspoken: Duets from the English and French Baroque
There is no need for text—the recorder is an extension of our voice! Professional recorder player and teacher Lisette Kielson leads the Eastern Connecticut Recorder Society in a playing session of duets from the 18th century. Graceful dances of Naudot and Boismortier and imitative sonata movements of Croft and Paisible provide the point of departure for our work on articulation, technique, and musicality so that we may bring out fully the music’s character. You will have the opportunity to play the same part with Lisette, the alternate duet line, or both (as there will be time to switch parts)! Geared toward intermediate and above SAT recorders and treble instruments. Pitch: A=440
